Out of sight out of mind as the saying goes and nothing could be more true than that of humanities greatest disaster. When we were asked to make an editorial contribution to Volume magazine #31 Guilty Landscapes we thought this would be the perfect platform to bring this issue to light.

The data-driven editorial piece created for Volume was an attempt to show the connection between the increased production of plastics, population growth and the exponential amount of plastics entering our oceans over a 10 year period.

Images from Chris Jordan's midway series followed The Great Plastic Tide spread.

The real issue here is that plastic is made to last forever; designed to throw away.
